Flash CS4 Professional for Windows and Macintosh: Visual QuickStart Guide
Undo Sending a Gmail Message
After enabling the feature, Gmail will show an "undo" link when you send a message. You have to react quickly because the link disappears in 5 seconds and there's no way to bring it back. If keyboard shortcuts are enabled in your Gmail account, a better option than clicking on "undo" is to press "z". When you undo sending a mail, Gmail saves it as a draft and you can continue editing the message or discard it.

"Sometimes I regret sending a message the morning after. Other times I send a message and then immediately notice a mistake. I forget to attach a file or email the birthday girl that I can't make her surprise party. I can rush to close my browser or unplug the Internet — but Gmail almost always wins that race. (...) I could undo just about any other action in Gmail — why couldn't I undo send? (...) My theory (which others shared) was that even just five seconds would be enough time to catch most of those regrettable emails," says Michael Leggett from Google.
I don't think that 5 seconds are enough to realize that sending the message was a mistake, but it's a good trade-off between functionality and the need to provide a reliable service. A simple improvement could be a configurable delay before sending messages.
Translate Gmail Messages
Most likely, the new product is a Gmail Labs feature that lets you translate messages written in a foreign language. I've found the screenshot that will be used for the feature, which will probably be another great use ofthe Google Translate API.

Similar features that use Google Translate have been implemented in Google Reader, YouTube, Google Maps,Picasa Web Albums, but the future is a powerful client that translates pages on the fly.
Update: Gmail Labs is now available in 47 languages, but the translation feature hasn't been released.

- A very well balanced editorial on Pakistan's internecine warfare.
- Can go into the 'must read' category. Read it here.
- GSM services can be now offered by CDMA players too.
- In a major blow to GSM operators, the telecom tribunal on Tuesday upheld the government’s decision to allow CDMA players, such as Reliance Communications and the Tatas, to launch GSM services.
- The tribunal also observed that GSM players are not entitled to more than 6.2 MHz of radio frequencies, a move that will strengthen the government’s efforts to impose a one-time fee for radio frequencies, exceeding this mark.
- Some GSM players such as Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Essar have up to 10 MHz in certain circles.
- India's power elite get 'power' flights
- "Rajdoot" is the name given to the first of the planes. To be used by the President.
- It is a new Boeing 747/700 and is one of the three such aircraft that have been bought by the country to cater to the VVIPs, including the Prime Minister.
- While one of the three jets is meant exclusively for the President and the Prime Minister, the other is for ferrying special guests and senior ministers. The third jet would be on a stand-by.
- These planes are inducted into the IAF's Headquarters Communication Squadron.

- India gets first Uranium fuel consignment post Indo-US nuclear deal
- Following clearance by the Nuclear Suppliers Group, first consignment of 60 tonnes of uranium ore concentrate, imported from France, has arrived at the Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC), Hyderabad for being converted into fuel for power reactors.
- The fuel would be processed by converting uranium ore concentrated into nuclear grade uranium dioxide powder and then compacted in the form of cylindrical pellets. These pellets will then stacked and encapsulated in thin walled tubes of zirconium alloy which will be sealed by resistance welding using end plugs, a technology which has been innovated in India.
- If a GM or Chrysler sneezes, why should India catch cold?
- You might all be aware that these are but two of the big names in automobile industry in the US. Both of them are facing humungous problems and are feared to be on their way to file for bankruptcy protection. This, in spite of the billions of dollars worth bailouts announced by the US government. If they are in trouble, why should India bother?
- Because Indian automobile spare parts manufacturers supply goods to them. If these companies go under, then it is these manufacturers who will face tough times; not just in terms of loss of orders, but also in terms of stuck payments. That would mean possible loss of employment in India.
- More or less similar will be the scenario with those of the IT companies which have a lot of business relationship with these companies.
- Look at this graphic to get a picture of the IT industry's exposure to the US automobile industry.
- How is that our country, in spite of its being a non-export oriented country, is facing as much downside, if not more, as many other export dependent countries in the current global economic crisis? (An excerpt from today's ET op-ed article.)
- True, India had been expected to suffer the least because its economy was the least dependent on foreign trade. But this forecast did not take into account the very rapid pace at which our economy had been integrated into the global economy in the past decade. The conventional measure of integration — the trade to GDP ratio — told only a part of the story, although this too had had recorded an impressive rise from 21.2% in 1997-98 to 34.7% in 2007-08. A far better measure of integration was the ratio of total external transactions, i.e., trade and capital flows, to GDP. This exceeded the entire GDP, having risen from 46.8% to 114.7%.
- It was the impact of the recession on nontrade financial flows that was doing the most harm to the economy. In the previous year capital inflows had broken all records and reached a staggering 9% of the GDP. This had dwarfed the outflow on the current account of 1.5% of the GDP and caused a sharp appreciation of the rupee. The reversal of these flows after the global financial crisis are the cause of the deeper than expected recession into which India is plunging, for it has compounded the impact of the decline in exports by bringing down share prices and the value of the rupee very sharply. These have strengthened the disinclination to invest and spend just when the economy needed the opposite.
- Country's total external debt figures
- THE country’s total external debt rose to $230.85 billion (Rs 11,18,565 crore) at the end of December 2008, up $6.2 billion from the total foreign debt in September, mainly because of a rise in long-term borrowing, finance ministry said here on Tuesday. Total external debt stood at $205.98 billion, or Rs 8,11,880 crore, at the end of December 2007.
- Government or sovereign external debt stood at $57.4 billion at end-December 2008 while non-government debt amounted to $173.5 billion.
- World Bank announces a $50 bn programme to revive confidence
- The World Bank announced a $50 billion programme on Tuesday to counter a decline in global trade.
- Robert Zoellick, the Bank's President said the Bank expects world trade volumes to fall by 6 percent this year, the largest decline in 80 years.
- While few details about the programme to boost trade were made available, the drop in commerce was attributed by the bank to a shortfall in trade credit, which allows exporters and importers to settle accounts.

How to Protect Your Computer Against the Conficker Worm
The Group Policy dialogue box will appear. On left panel, double-click Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Double-click the Turn autoplay off option. The reason behind disabling autoplay is that Conficker can be spread through USB flash drives infected with code that starts on auto-play when the infected drive is inserted into the computer. Disabling auto-play is a good way to ensure against any malicious code automatically gaining access to your computer.
ATM cards can be used in Any bank’s ATM for withdrawing cash without any charges.
Hi All, http://www.rbi.org.in/ Date: Mar 10, 2008 Customer charges for use of ATMs for cash withdrawal and balance enquiry RBI/2007-2008/260 March 10, 2008 The Chairman / Chief Executive Officer Dear Sir Customer charges for use of ATMs for cash withdrawal and balance enquiry 1. Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) have gained prominence as a delivery channel for banking transactions in India. Banks have been deploying ATMs to increase their reach. While ATMs facilitate a variety of banking transactions for customers, their main utility has been for cash withdrawal and balance enquiry. As at the end of December 2007, the number of ATMs deployed in India was 32,342. Commensurate with the branch network, larger banks have deployed more ATMs. Most banks prefer to deploy ATMs at locations where they have a large customer base or expect considerable use. To increase the usage of ATMs as a delivery channel, banks have also entered into bilateral or multilateral arrangements with other banks to have inter-bank ATM networks. 2. It is evident that the charges levied on the customers vary from bank to bank and also vary according to the ATM network that is used for the transaction. Consequently, a customer is not aware, before hand, of the charges that will be levied for a particular ATM transaction, while using an ATM of another bank. This generally discourages the customer from using the ATMs of other banks. It is, therefore, essential to ensure greater transparency. 3. International experience indicates that in countries such as UK, Germany and France, bank customers have access to all ATMs in the country, free of charge except when cash is withdrawn from white label ATMs or from ATMs managed by non-bank entities. There is also a move, internationally, to regulate the fee structure by the regulator from the public policy angle. The ideal situation is that a customer should be able to access any ATM installed in the country free of charge through an equitable cooperative initiative by banks. 4. In view of this, RBI had placed on its website an Approach paper and sought public comments. The comments received have been analysed. Based on the feed back a framework of service charges would be implemented by all banks as under: Sr.No. Service Charges (i) For use of own ATMs for any purpose Free (with immediate effect) (2) For use of other bank ATMs for balance enquiries Free (with immediate effect) (3) For use of other bank ATMs for cash withdrawals 5. For the services at (1) and (2) above, the customer will not be levied any charge under any other head and the service will be totally free. 6. For the service number (3) the charge of Rs.20/- indicated will be all inclusive and no other charges will be levied to the customers under any other head irrespective of the amount of withdrawal. 7. The service charges for the following types of cash withdrawal transactions may be determined by the banks themselves: (a) cash withdrawal with the use of credit cards 8. Please acknowledge the receipt of the circular. A copy of the circular issued to your branches on this subject may please be submitted to us in due course. Yours faithfully (Arun Pasricha)
Please note that wef 01st April, 2009 ATM cards can be used in Any bank’s ATM for withdrawing cash without any charges.
RBI circular in this regard is provided below. Hope you find this useful.
