The object of a New Year is not that we should have a new year. It is that we should have a new soul and a new nose; new feet, a new backbone, new ears, and new eyes. Unless a particular man made New Year resolutions, he would make no resolutions. Unless a man starts afresh about things, he will certainly do nothing effective. Unless a man starts on the strange assumption that he has never existed before, it is quite certain that he will never exist afterwards. Unless a man be born again, he shall by no means enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

New Year's Resolution: To tolerate fools more gladly, provided this does not encourage them to take up more of my time.

Eric Zorn

Making resolutions is a cleansing ritual of self assessment and repentance that demands personal honesty and, ultimately, reinforces humility. Breaking them is part of the cycle.

Beautiful Bible Qoute God's BlessingOn New Year

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17

You can count on God. He’s dependable, reliable. He is worthy of your trust.

Some of you know fathers who are unpredictable, unreliable, or fickle. They’re always changing, depending on the mood they’re in. Inconsistent fathers produce insecure children.

But the Scripture says God never has a bad day. He doesn’t wake up grumpy. He’s not moody. He doesn’t get up on the wrong side of the bed. He’s consistent and faithful.

2 Timothy 2:13 says, “If we are faithless, He will remain faithful, for He cannot disown Himself.” Even when I’m unfaithful, God is faithful. Even when I’m inconsistent, God is consistent. Even when I’m unreliable, God is reliable. No matter what else is changing in the world, there is one thing I can count on: God always acts the same way toward me. He is loving and He is consistent regardless of my mood. He loves me just as much on my bad days as on my good days.

God says it himself in Malachi 3:6, “I, the Lord, do not change.” That is good news!

The number one problem with children and parents – why more children rebel than any other reason, why there are more hurt feelings and damage done in relationships between parent and child – the number one cause of resentment between parent and child is broken promises. “One of these days … I promise”. And “one of those days” never comes.

But God is consistent. “What a God he is! How perfect in every way! All his promises prove true!” (Proverbs 18:30, LB) If God says it, count on it! He’s always faithful. He’s always just the same way.

Facebook Get More Serious About Account's Security Protection

Facebook, the world’s most popular online social networking organization is making strong efforts to increase account's security protection of millions of its users worldwide.

This is part of the report by John P. Mello Jr of PCWORLD adding that in other to increase its security, the social network is at present asking users for an alternative e-mail address, a mobile phone number, and an updated security question.

He stated: “You might be able to deduce what Facebook is up to by those requests. Its security protection warning isn't only about security protection at all, but enabling its members to regain access to their accounts should they be compromised

He noted that Facebook has been contacting its members for several weeks now with its "very low" security protection warnings. In the alerts, the company includes a link. “Click the link and you're taken to a page that requests additional personal information about you.”

"With fake antivirus, also known as scareware, attacks becoming an ever-growing problem, they attempt to trick you into believing your computer has a security problem when it doesn't, some security-conscious Facebook users might worry that this is a similarly-styled assault, designed to scare them into taking perhaps unwise actions,: he also stated.

Nepal's peace process at crossroads: UN chief

Madhav Kumar Nepal, the Prime Minister of Nepal's caretaker government, leaves the parliamentary office in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Nepal's peace process is at crossroads, the head of the United Nations has warned, just two weeks before the planned closure of a UN peace mission in the troubled country.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said the lack of progress in the peace process that began when Nepal's bloody civil war ended more than four years ago was a "growing concern".

"Nepal's peace process is at a crossroads," Ban said in a report to the UN Security Council published in New York on Thursday.

"The prolonged political deadlock that has hampered progress has become a growing concern for Nepalis and the international community alike as key timelines and deadlines approach in the coming months."

Ban said much had been achieved since the Comprehensive Peace Agreement was signed in 2006, ending a decade-long war between Maoist rebels and the state that killed at least 16,000 people.

But he said key tasks had yet to be completed, including the drafting of a new national constitution and the integration of thousands of Maoist former fighters into the state security forces.

His comments came as the UN Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) prepares to close on January 15 after officials complained it had been unfairly dragged into the political battles that have prevented the formation of a new government.

Nepal has been without a fully functioning government for six months after the prime minister resigned in June under pressure from the opposition Maoist party.

Ban blamed the stalemate on deepening rifts among and within Nepal's rival parties.

"They have in the past made major compromises, and they must soon do the same. None of them can afford to put the entire process and the fruits of their hard work at serious risk," he said.

UNMIN was set up in 2007 with a mandate to monitor the Nepal army and its rival, the Maoist People's Liberation Army, and their weapons.

It is not yet clear who will fulfill that role when UNMIN leaves. This week, the Maoist party formally requested a six-month extension of UNMIN's mandate, saying the body was needed until the peace process could be completed.

Karin Landgren, Ban's representative in Nepal, is due to present the report's findings to the Security Council in early January.

The decision, made as a commercial regulation, has serious consequences for Chinese Internet users as it will limit their ability to connect.
